I put this outfit together for the open casting challenge at Style Kingdom. The theme for the challenge in the second phase was Film Noir. We had about 5 days to work on this challenge and I spent the majority of it researching and thinking about what I was going to do. At one point I didn’t even think I’d come up with anything I would be really proud of. In past challenges I would buy things and try them on and end up with 3 or 4 versions of an outfit I would use. This time I wanted it to be different but time was running out for me fast. The fact that it was a work week in my real life didn’t help but we all have real lives and things like that so be it. I literally put this outfit together within 6 or so hours before hitting the runway. Maybe not a big deal for some but for me it was the first time. What complicated things even more was the fact that my computer was giving me a lot of issues at the time. When I walked down the runway I couldn’t even see my arms! It all worked out in the end, but I still wish I gave myself more time so I could tweak it a bit more. Lesson learned… I will try not to do the 11th hour thing again because if anything will go wrong when you are in a rush it certainly will!
The gown is a lovely black lace floor length gown by Indyra Originals. I think the dress pattern has a bit of an art deco feel to it. I added heavy eyeliner and a beauty mark by Madrid Solo. The richly textured stole, velvet gloves, cigarette holder, and beautiful jewelry by Finesmith gave my look the finishing touch.
